2024 Children's Book Week: Reading is Magic

We're excited to announce that Book Week is just around the corner! This years theme is Reading is Magic. Our school will join the nation in celebrating this wonderful event, where children and books come together in a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and imagination.

What is Book Week? Each year, across Australia, the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) brings children and books together, celebrating Children’s Book Week ®. Throughout the year, the CBCA collaborates with authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers, and other organizations in the children’s book world to bring words, images, and stories into the hearts and minds of children and adults alike.

Why is Book Week Important? Australian children’s literature enriches our nation and reaches children across the world through international editions. Book Week is a special time to recognize and celebrate the joy and learning that books bring to our lives. It’s an opportunity for our students to dive into the world of stories and connect with their favorite characters, authors, and illustrators.

What’s Happening at Our School?

• Book Week Parade: Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character! This is a fun and engaging way for students to express their love for reading.

How Can You Get Involved?

• Encourage your child to participate in the Book Week Parade and other Book Week activities.
• Share your favorite children’s books with your child and talk about the importance of reading.
